Projet Prioritaire Haitiens

THE US STATE DEPARTMENT IS SUBSERVIENT TO THE UN IN THE CASE OF HAITI

THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION HAS NO CLEAR POLICY OR OBJECTIVES FOR HAITI

THE UN SPENT OVER 4 BILLION DOLLARS IN HAITI WITHOUT ANY MEASURABLE ACCOMPLISHMENT

The United Nations charter was signed on June 26, 1945 from which time Haiti has been a member. The charter became effective as of October 24, 1945. There were initially 27 members and now there are 192 members at the present time.

Haiti was always there. Despite Haiti’s adherence to democratic principle for more than 200 years, and holding membership with the UN from the beginning this has not given Haiti any advantages. Even though Haiti is the mother of modern human rights, its citizens are in a constant fight to keep alive the principles that our forefathers demonstrated to the world in 1804.

What does Haiti have to show for its participation in the UN besides several botched missions with no positive benefits to its citizen or the country as a whole?

MINUHA (1993-1996)

MANUH (1996-1997)

MITNUH (1997)

MIPONUH (1997-2000)

MINUSTHA (2004-PRESENT)

For almost 20 years and more than 4 billion dollars in expenses, the UN to this day cannot show any concrete proof of accomplishment for these exorbitant sums spent in Haiti. Haiti has not shown any increases in: security, institutional capacity and governance, services to its citizens etc.

Why were they there, except to plunder Haiti’s natural resources, desecrating the wonderful memories and valiant prowess of our forefathers?

The UN’s meddling into Haiti’s politics has dated back to 1993, when the bootleg army of Haiti left because of the United States’ occupation and overthrow of the democratically elected government of President Aristide.

A close look at the UN leadership will clearly demonstrate that the UN is not an organization whose aim is to protect peace for their participating members but to increase the control of the G8 nations into the less developed world economically.

The leadership of the organization for the past 70 years has spoken volumes to its direction and countries should be careful if considering being a signing member of the UN.

Present

The current United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon is a calculated Politician. Since his tenure in South Korea politics, his moves were always aimed at bolstering his position on the international political scene. Although most, prior to him becoming the UN secretary General, considered him as an obscure figure and yet most of his political moves from South Korea were aimed at becoming the Secretary General of the UN.

He is well travelled and was involved with most of the member countries of the UN charter. By the time he postulated for the position to succeed Kofi Annan, he was quickly becoming a favorite of most of the members with veto power in the security council due to past dealings, thus propelling him as a front runner for the next chief of this dubious organization called the UN.

The UN suffered a deadly blow from the US when the war on terror was launched in 2001.  Finally at that time the UN secretary General was a black man from Ghana. We must also remind the world that the Bush administration in its humiliating coercive diplomacy has further undermined the leadership of the UN while Kofi Annan was heading the organization. The UN was rendered powerless; the war went on as a one man show and was later forced to become involved in Iraq.

The membership of impoverished countries as signing members to the principal governing such a partial organization has been viewed as a free pass to countries in the Security Council to become involved in their business as they see fit.

Ban Ki-Moon to support our assertion that he is indeed a clever and coercive diplomat.

The UN accomplishments in Haiti or in any of their meddling around the world have had a dismal record to show for its bloated budget estimated at around 7 billion a year. Although their responsibility is to provide security in Haiti, after 7 years in operation the situation is still tense.  The need for security in Haiti was estimated at 20,000 police officers or a combination of several security forces to secure the Haitian borders, environment, air, space etc. With such clear objective, one would think that the UN after 7 years of operation in Haiti would be able to claim that the Haitian police force is bolstered to 20,000. To date, however, the police forces are still less than half way from objective and the headcount is currently under 10,000 after 4 billion dollars being spent on Minustha in Haiti. This mission dated back from 2004 and to-date is a total failure.

Having in the White House a black man as Obama, hope was again alive for Haiti in the mind of Haitians in Haiti and abroad. Knowing that President Obama was in close proximity to Haitians in Chicago and his own administration has a few Haitians in charge. But hope has rapidly eroded for Haitians and change may never come our way while President Obama is in power.

Ban Ki-Moon’s calculation was that the UN has to do what is necessary to protect their self-interest in Haiti by making sure that the Obama administration, the greatest contributor to the UN’s annual budget is not on their tail.

At that point, it was decided that it was time to engage a Washington insider for the UN with responsibility to oversee Haiti by enlisting President Bill Clinton to subdue the Obama administration since they did not have clear objectives or stated goals for Haiti.

The job of keeping the Obama administration passive in the case of Haiti was quite easy since President Clinton’s wife Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in charge of priorities set by the State department.

The Haitian people were once again duped by the presence of President Clinton at the helm of decisions taken on behalf of Haiti by the UN and the United States.

Bill Clinton, a former President of the United States today looks as incompetent as the Préval/Bellerive administration in Haiti. He is a man that a great number of Haitians are fond of due to the fact that he restored President Aristide to power and turned the clock back on coup d’état supporters by letting them know that such behavior will no longer be tolerated. Yet all his goodwill now with the Haitian people is eroding.

The recruitment of Bill Clinton for the UN is further from being good for Haiti, because President Clinton brought back to Haiti former President George W. Bush—a man with no compassion for Haiti and its people and its solemn declaration against President Aristide. Aristide is man that the majority of Haitians are waiting to see again on Haitian soil. Clinton’s behavior indicates that he has no respect for the will of the people.

Recently, again President Aristide manifested his desire again to return to Haiti to help his compatriots. Phillip J. Crowley and Mark C. Toner from the State Department made a dubious or plagiarized a statement which is nothing more than the statement made by President Bill Clinton made in Haiti in 2010. This further proves that the State Department has no clear policy or stated goals for Haiti when its current member is regurgitating statement from a UN employee when it comes to current affairs in Haiti.

Recruiting President Bill Clinton as his special envoy in Haiti was a clever coup by Ki-Moon against Haiti

President Clinton is a man who understands the Haitian dossier fairly well since he has been involved in Haitian politics in the past and has given the coup de grace to Haiti by using his clout with the US government to mask the ineptness of the UN in Haiti.

Clear priorities that an American President should apply in Haiti have not been considered. A country where basic infrastructure is non-existent, one would think that electricity, road construction, fiber optics and communications, which would lead to job creation, would be encouraged. No

President Clinton knows that if there is to be lasting and meaningful change in Haiti, the mission of the UN must accompany projects geared at alleviating the burden of the masses, i.e. access to work, food, schools, potable water, healthcare etc.

A study commissioned by the UN dubbed the Brahimi Report has specifically outlined some of the steps necessary in order to have a successful mission in Haiti to this day; the UN has failed to implement its own commissioned study recommendations for Haiti.

To add insult to injury, Paul Farmer by any comparison is been considered as a friend of Haiti, since his appointment as Bill Clinton representative in Haiti, has not done much to defend the Haitian dossier specifically post-earthquake, the cholera epidemic and the return of Jean-Bertrand Aristide in Haiti. These were issues that were dear to him prior to his appointment. His mouth has been kept shut so that he does not suffer Seitenfus’ fate.

The offices of the UN are characteristic of the United Nations strategic dealings with members around the world. Their headquarters are based in countries whose specific economic interest and Security Council ties, are either members of the Security Council or are major contributors to the annual budget of the UN.

With President Obama’s administration having no clear policy objectives or stated goals for Haiti, and Clinton and Paul Farmer at the mercy of the United Nations, Haiti will be the loser.

Down with Clinton, down with the UN, long live the sovereign nations of Haiti fertilized with the blood of our forefathers.

THE ONLY WAY TO SOLVE THE IMBROGLIO CREATED BY THE PREVAL ADMINISTRATION ON NOVEMBER 28, 2010 IS TO ANNUL THE ELECTIONS

OAS ANALYSIS IS STATISTICALLY INSIGNIFICANT TO MAKE A RECOMMENDATION

OAS WITH ITS ATTEMPT TO MAKE CREDIBLE PRESIDENT’S PREVAL FALSE ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 28, 2010

Let us start by saying clearly and unequivocally that any initiatives who’s main goal is the suppression of the popular voice, is subject to be countered by violent reactions by the masses, and is in fact doomed to failure.

Two questions arise about any hypothesized relationship between two variables:

1) What is the probability that the relationship exists;

2) If it does, how strong is the relationship?

There are two types of tools that are used to address these questions: the first is addressed by tests for statistical significance; and the second is addressed by Measures of Association.

Tests for statistical significance are used to address the question: what is the probability that what we think is a relationship between two variables is really just a chance occurrence?

The element of credibility in the Provisional Electoral Council was necessary in order to have credible sets of data to conduct such analysis and make a recommendation. Unfortunately, the CEP was decried by the majority of the candidates and the people in general.

The elements necessary in order to have a credible election were totally absent from the process carried out on November 28, 2010, i.e.

The general guidelines for the code of conduct which election administrators (CEP)

must conform to are:

• Election administration must demonstrate respect for the law.

• Election administration must be non-partisan and neutral.

• Election administration must be transparent.

• Election administration must be accurate, professional and competent.

The other agents within the system must be seen to be also neutral, while the judicial system in its arbitration of electoral petitions should be impartial. (In this case, the Candidates do not even have any recourse in the judicial system. The CEP is judge and party)

• Election administration’s sole objective is to serve the voters.

In reality, the Provisional Electoral Council in Haiti is the opposite of the above stated conditions. They effectively manipulated the system by making last minute changes. 35,000 new CEP employees were injected into the apparatus.

  • 20% of the people qualified to vote were not in possession of their electoral cards
  • The electoral register was totally incomplete— leaving the majority of the people with their electoral cards to vote unable to do so
  • Massive government interference: early in the morning police pickups served as public transportation to take voters to polling places, and pay them to vote on behalf of Jude Celestin
  • The general electoral roll and electoral partial list should be ready between 60 days and 30 days respectively before the election, even on the day of the election, the list was totally in disarray.
  • 12 of the 19 Presidential candidates have called for the annulment of the elections of November 28, 2010 and the call is growing
  • The exclusion of Fanmi Lavalas

OAS has no respect for any Haitian officials or the Haitian people as a whole. The so-called report was leaked to the press prior to reaching President Préval. In any serious country, this mistake would be met with dire consequences for the members of the OAS.

As an observer, OAS, CARICOM, CNO etc. violated the rules as well.

The guiding principles or code of conduct for election observers must conform to are as follows:

• Election observation must be non-partisan and neutral.

 • Election observation must recognize and respect the sovereignty of the host country.

• Election observation must be comprehensive in reviewing the election, considering all relevant circumstances.

• Election observation must be accurate, professional and comprehensive.

• Election observation must be transparent.

OAS agreed to participate in the verification process of a so-called election marred in impropriety and violations. This is indicative of the way that the human rights organizations—which aim to resolve conflict in the underdeveloped world—is doing nothing more than acting with blatant disregard for the will of the masses and in support of the failed status-quo.

There was no credible system prior and leading to November 28, 2010 in place to guarantee the accuracy of the (Procès Verbaux). Any attempt to validate documents in which there is no way to guarantee accurateness cannot and should not be validated. In simple terms—garbage in, garbage out—fraudulent ballot, fraudulent vote yields a fraudulent result.

No matter how many experts OAS had on the ground in Haiti, this organization cannot justify any particular findings or analysis to make a recommendation as to who should be first, second or third. The analysis is statistically insignificant and precludes them from being able to draw a conclusion or make a recommendation

To illustrate the point: How can OAS verify or validate a process in which none of the premises that should be respected in order to conduct and hold a fair election were respected?

The basic rule established which OAS, UN and the International Community adhere to as a rule is: The Universal and equal suffrage.

The Universal and Equal Suffrage is a clear international standard which the elections of November 28, 2010 violated under the watchful eye of the UN—the promoter of the concept, followed by OAS, CARICOM, and the International Community. The Universal and Equal Suffrage calls for the guarantee that each adult citizen has. The right to be elected as a member of the legislature or other provincial or local body, as well as the right to be elected president, may require an age beyond the age of majority, but must be guaranteed to all citizens of that age without discrimination. The case of the exclusion of Fanmi Lavalas as well as many other qualified political parties are good enough reasons to support the request for the annulment the elections of November 28, 2010.

The 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 21 states:

1. Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or

through freely chosen representatives.

3. The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will

shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be held by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret ballot or by equivalent free voting procedures.

The 1991 Commonwealth Harare Declaration

Its members also share a commitment to certain fundamental principles...

• We believe in the liberty of the individual under the law, in equal rights for all

citizens regardless of gender, race, color, creed or political belief, and in the

individual's inalienable right to participate by means of free and democratic

political processes in framing the society in which he or she lives;

Under no circumstance could the elections of November 28, 2010 be considered an election when patent violations are demonstrated and the OAS is in complicity with the Préval/Bellerive government want to salvage and recommend a run-off for an election that was never occurred.

The Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington concur with the position of the 12 candidates calling for an annulment of the elections since November 28, 2010 and their demand expresses the will of the people of Haiti. The Center went further by stating:

"This report can't salvage an election that was illegitimate, where nearly three-quarters of the electorate didn't vote, and where the vote count of the minority that did vote was severely compromised," said Mark Weisbrot, co-director of the center.

The center said it analyzed 11,181 tally sheets from the November 28 vote and found the election seriously flawed. It said the OAS report cannot help determine the outcome of the first round of Haiti’s election.

Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council released preliminary results on December 7, 2010 that gave Mirlande Manigat a win with 31.4% of the vote. Jude Celestin, second with 22.3% Michel Martelly was third with 21.8%.

The OAS review just reversed the percentage between Jude Celestin and Michel Martelly identically to what the provisional electoral council had previously released, Martelly had won 22.2% of the vote to Celestin's 21.9%, moving Martelly in the second spot for a possible runoff election with Manigat.

The Center for Economic and Policy Research said the OAS found 12% of the tally sheets were either not received by the electoral council or were quarantined -- a much larger number of lost votes than either OAS monitors or the council had previously acknowledged.

But the Center found the OAS review problematic because it tossed votes from a region that was favorable to Celestin and did not examine all of the 11,181 tally sheets.

Weisbrot said the margin of difference between Martelly and Celestin in the OAS's recount -- 0.3%-- was too small to statistically distinguish between the two.

"This appears to be a political, and not a professional, decision," he said.

Despite the "magnitude of problems" and "the irregularities," the election need not be invalidated, Granderson said. So wrong Mr. Granderson, Haiti wants a democracy where the concept of one man/woman, one vote is respected and will fight to the end to achieve that objective.

A runoff, originally scheduled for January 16, has now been postponed. Dictator Jean Claude Duvalier is returned to Haiti while Jean-Bertrand Aristide is still in exile—what a dichotomy ?

"A second round of voting between Michel Martelly and Mirlande Manigat will not reflect the will of the people.

The only legitimate decision is to annul the elections, apply the mandate of article 149 of the constitution as of February 7, 2011 by appointing a provisional government in Haiti for one year. The sole objective should be to organize credible elections in Haiti for the President, the house and the senate and return Haiti to constitutional rule on February 7, 2012.

VOX POPULI, VOX DEI

HPP CALLED FOR THE ANNULMENT OF THE ELECTIONS OF NOVEMBER 28, 2010 AND THE DISSOLUTION OF THE CEP.

THE POPULAR VOTE WAS STOLEN BY PRESIDENT PREVAL, MINUSTHA,CARICOM, OAS AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE

HAITIAN PRIORITIES PROJECT (HPP) takes this opportunity to thank all of its partners and contributors who consistently helped with financing in order achieve a careful and precise pre-election poll conducted in record time void of any interference from donors.

Success was achieved despite the difficulties encountered in Haiti to produce reports in a timely manner. With the information provided to us by the people and our workers, and their respect for democratic principles in relaying and analyzing the facts as the people reported, our survey is by far the closest to the reality of the so-called elections on November 28, 2010.

To our beloved people, we send our applause and eternal gratitude for having once again demonstrated peace, serenity and political savyness in the face of adversity. Your show of ingenuity and resilience against this undemocratic election process gave a lesson in democracy to the CEP, the government of Haiti, and the international community. The spirit of Toussaint Louverture still lives on by the strength and willingness of the people to fight for a just cause. For that, there is still hope for democracy to grow on the land of Dessalines and the heroes of our independence. This past week has been a testament to the true will and might of the Haitian people.

Indeed the people of Haiti were ready with their red cards in hand on November 28, 2010 to sanction the Preval/Bellerive government for incompetence and lack of candor in handling the affairs of Haiti.

HAITIAN PRIORITIES PROJECT simultaneously deplores the attacks of November 28, 2010 against election workers, politicians, Casecs, Asecs and the general public.

We condemn acts of violence by militants of the Preval regime and soldiers, against the people, trying to force them to vote in elections without complying with democratic norms.

We say "shame" to those who have tried by flawed polls to influence the election results on behalf of wealthy patrons who completely ignore the welfare of our nation.

Shame also to the security forces national and international operating in the country, OAS, UN, CARICOM.

These individuals who are supposed to be concerned with the safety of the people of Haiti, and the security of its streets proved unable to, despite the people’s willingness to adhere to peaceful norms. Once again, Minustha has shown its incompetence in dealing with the affairs of Haiti and its willingness to side with the status quo to the detriment of the Haitian population for the benefit of the enemies of democracy.

Key points to consider for the call of an annulment of the November 28, 2010 Elections:

HPP has found evidence of abuse by the electoral commission in favor of Inite’s candidates. Corpuscles belonging to the President of the Republic's inner circle received excessive and inappropriate support through the use of funds made available and access to materials belonging to the state. They have exerted violence against elected officials and the public. These abuses have been demonstrated by the Representative of Inite in the first district in Port-Au-Prince against, Mrs. Betty Marcellus of the party Vwazinaj. In Aquin, Representative Bourjolly used tear gas against supporters of Calixte Bosse, and they have been the subject of death threats. Heavily armed individuals have closed, stuffed and ransacked many polling stations, just to name a few of the cases.

  • 20% of the people qualified to vote were not in possession of their electoral cards
  • The electoral register was totally incomplete leaving the majority of the people with their electoral cards to vote--unable to do so
  • Massive government interference: early in the morning police pickups served as public transportations to take people to polling places, and pay them to vote on behalf of Jude Celestin
  • The general electoral roll and electoral partial list should be ready for 60 days and 30 days respectively before the election, even on the day of the election, the list was totally in disarray.
  • Disproportionate financing of the behalf of the Preval/Bellerive government candidates with possible infusion of dirty money in the electoral process
  • Massive ballot stuffing and interference on the part of the incumbent candidate Jude Celestin
  • The National police, CNE were used before and during the day of vote to intimidate, pay and to work on behalf of Jude Celestin
  • The program Cash for Work was transformed into cash for vote under the watchful eyes of the international community
  • 12 of the 19 Presidential candidates have called for the annulment of the elections of November 28, 2010 and the call is growing
  • The office of National Identification Cards have withheld and unable to issue cards to almost a million people who are qualified to vote
  • Government officials publicly campaigned, paid to influence the vote on behalf of Jude Celestin both before and during the day of the election
  • The exclusion of Fanmi Lavalas

These abuses occurred in several regions of the country. Although important in terms of elections and democratic principles, the aggregate number of violations from these irregularities is decisive and has a great impact on the electoral process to the slimmest extent.

Serious irregularities have occurred, and attempts to manipulate voting results are evident. There are major procedural violations. A number of election workers have been involved willingly or forced into acts of fraud. These irregularities also reflect a lack of control over the production of official documents including the accreditation of observers and the documents relating to official travel, which have been used to fraudulently claim the right to vote.

PPH does not in any way prejudge the prerogative given to CEP in making their own decisions, however, the facts at issue, are to submit its analysis in order to inform the public and to provide candidates and political parties an independent and objective evaluation of the process. The CEP have shown its incompetence in having fair, impartial and democratic elections

HPP requests that all concerned remain calm and ensure that their apprehension of the elections is based solely on a neutral and rigorous analysis of electoral facts. With the majority of the presidential candidates calling for the annulment of the November 28, 2010 elections, the CEP, the President and the international community should in no way validate these elections. Such actions will prove irresponsible and will to send Haiti into chaos.

The election held on November 28, 2010 should be annulled and new elections should be held in accordance with ARTICLE 149 of the constitution: Should the office of the President of the Republic become vacant for any reason, the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic, or in his absence, the Vice President of that Court, or in his absence, the judge with the highest seniority and so on by order of seniority, shall be invested temporarily with the duties of the President of the Republic by the National Assembly duly convened by the Prime Minister- The election of a new President for a new five (5) year term shall be held at least forty-five (45) and no more than ninety (90) days after the vacancy occurs, pursuant to the Constitution and the Electoral Law.

Any change should be made in the spirit of the law and the constitution.

However, offices or polling centers that display higher participation rates than others in their areas deserve further attention. Moreover, if the results of these offices heavily favor one candidate, this could indicate an attempt to manipulate the result of the elections through ballot stuffing or fraudulent votes made in the absence of witnesses or observers.

HPP lead its election observation in accordance with the Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation and Code of Conduct adopted by the United Nations in 2005. These principles should have been utilized uniformly to abate and nullify this farce election of November 28, 2010.

MAY GOD BLESS HAITI, MAY THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE PREVAIL

VOX POPULI, VOX DEI

80% OF THE POPULATION IS READY TO GO TO THE POLLS AND ATTORNEY JEAN HENRY CÉANT WILL BE PRESIDENT OF HAITI WITH 53% OF VOTES, INDICATES THE SURVEY CONDUCTED BY THE HAITIAN PRIORITIES PROJECT OF THE ELECTIONS OF NOVEMBER 28, 2010.

Monday, November 22, 2010

According to a recent survey conducted by Haitian Priorities Project spearheaded by 50 of its members dispatched around the country to all ten departments, reporting on the progress of the upcoming elections of 28 November 2010.

The people as a whole are prepared to sanction the government Préval /Bellerive in the next few days. This has been revealed by individuals interviewed for more than two weeks across the country.

80% of voters qualified to vote in the national elections say they are ready to go to the polls for presidential and senatorial elections of November 28.

Many showed their disagreement with the government in:

  • Management of the country after the earthquake
  • The minusta
  • The cholera epidemic
  • Exclusion of Fanmi Lavalas in the upcoming elections
  • Non-renewal of the diplomatic passport of President Aristide
  • Préval /Bellerive government's refusal to permit entry of President Aristide back into the country
  • The manipulation of the Préval government wanting to shove Jude Celestin in the throat of the people as a symbol for continuity.

What continuity questions the respondents while whispering that the Préval government / Bellerive advocates, theft of state resources in favor of its own candidate "insider", the continuity of living in filth, the systematic theft of the state system, rape, lack of electricity, communication, energy, lack of employment, poor sanitation, cholera and a named agent of the cholera government Dimitri Vorbes who attempts to buy the conscience of people in tents and squalor to its own detriment, etc...

The people as a whole describe the management of this government as catastrophic and are preparing accordingly to give a red card to the government Préval / Bellerive and his cronies on November 28 revealed the survey.

Many decried the choice of Jude Celestin of “Inite” as an insult to the nation and an example of the systematic violation of the rights of the people. Jude Celestin is a violator of the most basic rights wanting to get the "cash for work transformed into cash for vote" in the presence of the international community without any sanctions for such violations.

Then comes former President Bill Clinton—an American in which the people held out a glimmer of hope—but that hope quickly turned into despair. The question that the majority of the Haitian people would ask the U.S. President and hopes that he offers a response to the Haitian nation is how is it that Mr. Clinton disappointed the Haitian people so easily? Is this behavior towards the Haitian people symptomatic of his racial hegemony or pure incompetence in the functioning of Haiti?

Fundamentally we have identified many problems during our meetings which may undermine the electoral process. Roughly 20% of people who are qualified to vote are not provided their registration cards, in addition a large majority of people who have the opportunity to apply for their voter registration cards after September 29, 2010 are banned from voting and will not have the possession of their registration cards even though they applied for their cards more than two months before the elections and such exclusion was not noted or advised beforehand.

Various incidents were orchestrated over the past month around the country by the candidates of the ruling party “Inite “in namely in Port-au-Prince in the first ward, supporters of Job Glorius have emptied their firearms during a meeting chaired by Betty Marcellus candidate from the grouping Vwazinaj.

Candidate in Aquin Calixte Bosse from the political party Pont was attacked Sunday, November 14, 2010 by supporters of Depute Bourjolly—members of the ruling party by spreading tear gas into the crowd—a substance that a candidate for the house of representatives should not be in possession of just to name a few.

It seems that the Préval / Bellerive government and his group Inite are ready to shed blood across the country. Judges, ASEC, ...

80% DE LA POPULATION SERAIT PRÊT À SE PRESENTER AUX URNES ET LE NOTAIRE JEAN HENRY CÉANT SERA PRÉSIDENT D’HAÏTI AVEC 53% DES VOTES, REVÈLE UN SONDAGE DE LA HAITIAN PRIORITIES PROJECT DES JOUTES ELECTORALES DU 28 NOVEMBRE 2010.

Lundi 22 Novembre, 2010

CONSULTATION WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JEAN HENRY CÉANT AROUND THE THEME OF HIS CAMPAIGN “NO EXCLUSIONS”

mardi 19 octobre 2010

CONSULTATION WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JEAN HENRY CÉANT AROUND THE THEME OF HIS CAMPAIGN “NO EXCLUSIONS” EVERYONE MUST BE INVOLVED (TOUT MOUN LADAN L)

Members, Supporters, Fans, sympathizers of the Lavalas Family, Haitians in the diaspora. Come together with candidate Céant around the theme of his campaign. The Committee Fanmi Lavalas of Haitians overseas (CFLHO) sends warm greetings on behalf of our motherland Haiti.
In its ultimate desire to unite all Haitians around the table for a national dialogue and block the road to a possible extension of the dictatorship of President Preval currently in gestation, the Committee calls upon your class consciousness and belonging to preserve the democratic gains from the ideologies of December 16, 1990.
We cordially invite you to enjoy a meeting of questions and answers with the presidential candidate, Mr. Jean Henry Céant around the theme of his campaign: "TOUT MOUN LADAN L”.
This exchange occurs in a particular context of the history of our country since the euphoria of the wind of democratization that ended with the February 2004 kidnapping of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, the dream of the protection of the masses has become a desperate endeavor which has been slow to materialize.

Haiti is at an important step in its transition process both at home and abroad, giving rise to infinite hopes for the reconstruction of our political and economic fabric. Being a community that believes in an ideology of social equity, it behooves us to be guided by a spirit of magnanimity and solidarity, so that together we came out winners in this ideological struggle that unites us.
Our common goal is to guide the Haitian people towards the path of progress and equity. Today our duty is to strategize and protect our democratic gains.

Fanmi Lavalas was once again excluded from the electoral contest with the complicity of the international community which continues to stubbornly turn a deaf ear to the demands of the Haitian people. So we need new strategies to achieve common goals to benefit the majority.
Against a backdrop of anxieties and questions facing us for an uncertain future, CFLHO takes the opportunity to invite you on October 23 so that together, we may design a better strategic direction to the upcoming Haitian elections and ensure the selection of a president capable of promoting a policy that reflects the aspirations of our people.

Come in droves Saturday, October 23 from 1PM: 00 until 7: 00 PM; at the local of Lively Stone Church of Miami 8025 NW Miami Ct. Miami, FL 33153 to discuss with candidate Céant in anticipation of elections. "From the clash of ideas sprang the light." Share our strength and our belief that together we continue the struggle to achieve a better future for our people!

Unite Haitian brothers and sisters to ensure the best for our country, not waiting for the worst again to shed tears because of the bloodshed of our compatriots. In order to provide a service worthy of the public who will attend this meeting, we urge you to confirm your participation.

HELP THE MIRACULOUS SURVIVORS OF THE EARTHQUAKE RETAIN THEIR SELF-ESTEEM

The most devastating earthquake has severely interrupted life in Haiti. It has suddenly become hell on earth. The survivors are completely disoriented, scared and trying to make sense of what happened to them. Now they have more time to absorb the shock and the devastation that is so immense. One questions how the Haitian people find the will to survive amid this catastrophe, a reality beyond comprehension. Thousands of corpses are littering the streets and hundreds of thousands more are buried under heaps of rubble.
Amid this disaster many are uttering “whys” that go unanswered. Unable to accuse God of this enormous destruction, they turn to Him with pleas to protect them against the many aftershocks and perhaps another disastrous earthquake that may will follow. They thank God and are grateful as survivors; they thank Him for having spared them.

The days pass and with them the hope of finding survivors. They speak even about burying their dead, knowing that the process of identifying rotting corpses under their homes is an overwhelming one. The government does not speak about its citizen’s pain, not even attempting to comfort them or give them some hope to help them recover.
Humanitarian aid is packed at the airport of Port-au-Prince. The world has certainly responded positively and generously to Haiti’s SOS. They arrived in record time on the scene well-equipped and ready to save our people in distress. But surprise, surprise! Who supervises the aid workers and coordination of this massive assistance?

Finding the Haitian logistical teams, who should coordinate the storage and distribution of medicines, food, tents, blankets and other items essential to assist the survivors, is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Meanwhile, the neediest portion of the nation does not have access to anything. There are hundreds of thousands sleeping under the stars on the plazas and streets praying to God to preserve them from the famous torrential rains that Haiti is used to. On the rare occasion when a truck arrives for the distribution, they reprimand so-called unruly citizens with tear gas, those scrambling to get something to eat or a bottle of water to quench their thirst.

They are treated like animals by the same people who would heal their wounds and help them recover. Those cynics who, despite their knowledge of the harmful effects of this gas on these poor homeless people wandering in the damp heat, do not hesitate to further complicate the lives of these poor people as if nature did not do enough.

Some foreign military personnel, in good faith, look on helplessly, wondering how the Haitian police and the U.S. Navy can use pepper spray on them, when they know for a fact that such use will further complicate their medical situation due to lack of available water. Even if citizens were to become unruly, in these extraordinary circumstances, more humane disciplinary measures should be taken. Some advise civilians to complain to authorities. What authorities? The press? There are well known toxic effects of this gas: respiratory problems, nausea, vomiting, irritation of the lachrymal gland and eye spasms, chest pain, dermatitis and allergies as well the long-term effects such as necrosis of tissue in the airway tissue in the digestive tract, pulmonary edema internal bleeding and the risk for pregnant women to have abnormal children at birth.

Some members of Project 2000 International, Committee Fanmi Lavalas of Haitians Living Overseas (CFLHO) and Church of God Soldiers of Christ went to Haiti to provide assistance to survivors of the earthquake.

The victims of the earthquake have already been traumatized beyond what any human being could possibly imagine, and should not be subject of further inhumane treatment. They lost everything: parents, children, family and friends….not to mention homes, businesses and items of sentimental value.

They did nothing wrong, they are sleeping under the light of the moon, fighting with the mosquitoes; no tents are available. They are hungry and thirsty. They perspire as though it were July, which intensifies the pain caused by the use of tear gas. They are traumatized more by standing in lines that do not end. They circulate in the stench of their dead in search of some food and water. They live at the mercy of the elements, sun, cold, mosquitoes and flies that will soon spread all sorts of diseases. Thieves and werewolves do not spare. Their daughters are raped ... they do not deserve being abused especially by those who were to serve and protect

Human nature has its limits. The physical and psychological fatigue of our children is evident even when we see them fight desperately against the collective dehumanization to which they are subjected. Let's help them keep their esteem. Denounce the unjust actions of the Haitian police and U.S. military against our strong-willed people.
